First, I would like to share my journey to reading and implementing the principles of Simple Discipleship. I have been a church planter for ten years in Rochester, NY. Over the years I have observed a heart breaking trend. Many of the people that I had “discipled” ended up becoming self-centered takers and not reproducers. I saw this happen in 2010 and began praying for answers and a solution to end this trend in our church. The answer was in Simple Discipleship. The key was to produce well rounded disciples that minister and are ministered to. I was sold hook line and sinker! I spoke to Dr. Tom about his book and my struggles as a pastor. I read the book several times and bought copies for the leadership at our church. After we had all read the book the over riding decision was to take it a step further and pursue the online coaching. Why? Because making disciples must be done with excellence. To do this a coach is needed. After several weeks of coaching with Dr. Tom the implementation process began in summer 2011. We started out with zero small groups. Now we have four. We ended the year with 14 baptisms! Our church grew by over twenty percent in number. Even more important we had 100% involvement in outreach and the entire church is following a daily Bible reading program! This would not be possible without God’s power and God’s provision in the online coaching. I highly recommend online coaching to empower you and your church to make disciples with excellence. After all, that is our mission!
